Our Area

Located on the South Devon Coast of England, Torbay derives its name from the three towns which make up the borough, Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. The area we cover ranges from busy town harbours through to secluded hidden coves, and from bustling tourist beaches to empty countryside.

Torquay, the busiest and largest of the three towns, is a Mecca for holidaymaker's from all over the country. With an extensive nightlife, busy marina, extensive water sports, marine aviary, piers, prehistoric show caves, model village, and blue flag beaches there is something for everyone and every age.

Paignton is slightly smaller than Torquay, and has more of a family feel than cosmopolitan Torquay. A range of blue flag beaches, water-park, busy harbour, pier, steam trains and award winning zoo keeps Paignton firmly on the tourist trail.

Although a tourist attraction in its own right, the Port of Brixham is still very much a working fishing town. Home to HM Coastguard Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre, Torbay Lifeboat Station, The Brixham Heritage Fishing Fleet, and even a replica of The Golden Hind, Brixham is very much a town interwoven with the sea. From here the coastline to Kingswear is all open countryside complete with some of the finest views in the bay!

Between the two teams we provide emergency cover for thirty one miles of spectacular coastline which ranges from slate to sandstone, towering cliffs to expansive beaches. The Torbay team take responsibility for the areas between Maidencombe and Elbury Cove, including the towns of Torquay and Paignton, whilst the Berry Head team take over from Elbury Cove through to Kingswear, including the Port of Brixham.
